China has no special law on “consular authentication”. Sporadic provisions can be found in different legal instruments. Nonetheless, experience shows that consular authentication plays a positive role in adjusting international civil and commercial relationship, and in the building of a harmonious world. At the same time, certain problems need to be addressed. Therefore, the article uses examples to analyze and discuss issues in China's consular authentication, in an attempt to provide a useful reference for improving China's consular authentication system.
